Lowr Wisconsin River Habitat for Humanity

Mission Statement

Lower Wisconsin River Habitat for Humanity works in partnership with God and his people to enrich our communities by building and renovating simple, decent housing in decent communities in which people can live and grow into all that God intends.

The Program

Lower Wisconsin River Habitat for Humanity is a Christian-based 501 (c) (3) non-profit charitable organization seeking to provide quality affordable housing in Iowa County and surrounding communities.

Through volunteer labor and tax-deductible donations of money, land, and materials, Lower Wisconsin River Habitat for Humanity builds or rehabilitates simple, decent houses. Families are selected based on their level of need, willingness to work, acceptance of responsibilities and ability to repay the mortgage. Families must complete at least 300 hours of sweat equity and attend homeowner education classes. Qualified families purchase homes from LWRHFH with a zero-interest mortgage, enabling them to own their home.
